Will certain food groups affect my fertility levels and prevent me from conceiving?

So there are no food groups that will prevent you from conceiving. But diet is really important in optimising fertility. And again, balancing blood sugar levels is really important, which I have spoken about in a couple of the previous questions. Best way to do that is by eating balanced meals, including some protein and some fats in your meals and also some complex carbohydrates. Loads of veggies for their fibre, antioxidants, polyphenols really helpful for egg health as well.
And generally speaking, a Mediterranean diet is the best kind of diet for fertility that's both male and female fertility. Foods which can be detrimental, are generally kind of refined sugar, sugary snacks, processed food. It's also worth noting, you don't want to overdo it on caffeine or alcohol, which is the part that some people really struggle with. You don't have to go completely cold turkey. But if you're a real caffeine fiend, you might want to think about switching some coffees for decaf or herbal teas. And I'm afraid boozy weekends are probably not advisable. If you are actively trying to conceive a couple of glasses of red wine a week is the absolute maximum.
