I've been told I have unexplained infertility and feel like I hit a wall. What options do I have now? And does that mean that I'm completely infertile?
Firstly, I am so sorry to hear that you've had this diagnosis I know, it can be incredibly frustrating to hear, but it absolutely does not mean that you are infertile I really wants to stress that. I think your next steps would be to go back to your physician or your fertility clinic and just make sure that they have really tested everything that they can.
And then unexplained infertility is actually where nutrition and other holistic practices can really come into their own. So, for instance, my clients, I will do tests that fertility clinic wouldn't run, for example, something called Vaginal EcologiX, which tests your bacteria in the vagina because certain strains of bacteria can actually lead to difficulties conceiving, maybe some gut health testing and more detailed hormone testing.
There are so many more tests that you can do really like with my clients. I just don't leave any stone unturned because I think if you've had a diagnosis of unexplained infertility, it just means the answer hasn't been found yet. I really strongly believe there is an answer, though, optimising your nutrient intake for supporting egg health and sperm health, because remember, the boys are important in this too, as well as optimising your hormonal health is really important. Getting on the right supplements.
I'm also a really big fan of acupuncture fertility, and I think that can be really helpful as well for the stress and anxiety. Acupuncture can be really useful because unfortunately, struggling to conceive generally leads to some anxiety and some stress.
