Tell me everything!
Firstly, let’s answer the age-old question: what is CBD? CBD or cannabidiol is a cannabinoid and derives from the cannabis plant. But CBD is just one out of 100 cannabinoids in existence.
Fun fact! The body produces its own cannabinoids. Don’t worry your body doesn’t grow its own specimen of cannabis. The ECS or endocannabinoid system ensures the body is in a state of homeostasis, which is basically a nerdy word for balance. The ECS uses the body’s cannabinoid receptors to bind with endocannabinoids and transmits throughout the body.
However, different receptors, target different issues. CB1 receptors are situated in the central nervous system, whilst CB2 receptors are present outside of the central nervous system. This means the ECS can balance all areas of the body.
Synthetic cannabinoids are artificial chemicals rather than natural substances as mother nature intended. Therefore, researching the quality of CBD for your first CBD purchase is always worth it.
So why take CBD? ECS’ purpose is to interact with cannabinoids like CBD. Therefore, when more cannabinoids are introduced into the body ECS can redistribute them effectively around to make sure the different parts of the body are in harmony.
But I want to know more
So you know how CBD works. But how do you take it? Well,... it’s completely up to you! CBD commonly comes in the following forms: drops, spray, and balms. They all have a variety of purposes and each one can be used to suit your specific needs.
One factor you may want to consider is the bioavailability of the CBD. “What the heck is bioavailability?!”, I hear you cry. It’s actually pretty simple. The bioavailability refers to how fast a chemical can reach your circulatory system, i.e how fast can it reach your blood vessels. Age, weight and lifestyle can also affect how fast your body absorbs CBD.
Although, there are small factors that make a big difference. If you’re looking for faster absorption, CBD spray or drops may be more your thing. We suggest using CBD sprays and drops, by spraying or pipetting it under the tongue. This may sound weird but stick with us. Taking any kind of CBD by popping it under the tongue, means it can travel to your circulatory system faster and get to the route of the problem in no time.
CBD can be absorbed faster this way, as opposed to digesting it as CBD has to travel further to reach the blood vessels. Letting the drops or spray soak in (we know, it’s gross), underneath your tongue means the CBD can get to work in as little as 30 mins and last for as long as 6 hours.
Muscle balms and creams can be great if you’re not keen on taking anything orally. It must be said, the CBD in balms and creams doesn’t reach the bloodstream very quickly. The skin acts as a protective barrier against any nasty chemicals, so natural compounds can have a hard time making their way in. If you’re looking for external pain relief then a muscle balm or cream is definitely for you. Topical products allow you to control the amount of CBD you use by applying as much or as little as you want.
Now you know what products are out there, let’s talk dosage. The dose that’s right for you depends on a few factors. Your age, weight, metabolism, lifestyle etc., all affect what dosage you should be taking. If you have no idea what the best dosage of CBD is for you, we recommend starting off with 300mg solutions and increasing the dosage as required. Combining two different products, such as a muscle balm and drops can be a great way to get the most out of CBD.
What’s different about BeYou CBD?
You’re practically a CBD expert, you don’t need an even better CBD oil. Think again. Unfortunately, dodgy CBD does exist as CBD has become more or more popular in recent years.
We here at BeYou, only bring you the highest quality CBD around. We independently test our CBD batches with third-party laboratories. Our CBD is tested to a rigorous specification to ensure we only produce CBD products that are safe, effective and completely natural.
If you’re thinking of grabbing the BeYou CBD Oral Drops or Spray, but don’t fancy the herby taste of other CBD products then we have you covered. Both the drops and spray are naturally flavoured, meaning the Berry and Lemon CBD drops/sprays are not only easy to use but are also tasty.
In our CBD range, we use broad spectrum CBD rather than CBD isolate. CBD isolate means that particular oil or spray only uses one specific type of CBD. Broad spectrum means the specific CBD used in the products includes most cannabinoids that fall under the CBD label. Full spectrum CBD products also contain THC which is the psychoactive part of cannabis that creates the sensation of a ‘high’.
CBD isolate is usually marketed as being useful for tackling one specific problem. The advantage of Broad Spectrum CBD is that the cannabinoids work in tandem with each other. This is often referred to as “the entourage effect”, meaning the collaborative nature of CBD can balance the body’s complaints.
Another reason why our CBD is better than all the other CBD ranges you’ve tried (trust us), is that our CBD is the main ingredient. The BeYou CBD spray contains Broad Spectrum Cannabidiol Extract, whilst our CBD drops contain Broad Spectrum Hemp Extract. We also use other yummy natural ingredients like raw organic hemp seed oil, which has high levels of omega fatty acids and proteins and raw organic coconut oil (MCT oil), which can be easily absorbed into the bloodstream.
Our CBD range has the finest ingredients to ensure it can balance whatever is out of whack. We believe in being as transparent as we can. Unfortunately, explaining the effects of CBD, can be murky water. We encourage you to do your product research before purchasing the right product for you.
